Steamy Romance Reads

Hello Friends,

Romance is in the news this month, and women who like sex and want to read about it are rocking the romance genre.

Don’t judge a lady’s taste by her age…

“Just because she is defined as a grandmother doesn’t mean she wants her romances without the hot sex.”

During this last week, I’ve read two articles about changes to romance fiction and writer’s views on love and sex at an Australian news site, here and here

The lowdown is that nice guy, romance heroes have jettisoned the alpha males and alpha holes off the page. Heroines have outgrown the passive damsels with the heaving bosoms (????) caricature. She has become feisty, confident and is pursuing a fulfilling life.

Romance novels are Australia’s steamiest secret. Readers still love racy romance with happy endings.

E-books are bought to read the raunchy stuff and paperback for the sweet romances. Four steamy’s are purchased for every sweet. Ah-huh! It’s a buffet of heat levels.

But it seems Australian readers are following a sexy trend which is bigger than the land down under. Mills & Boon, one of the world’s major romance publishing houses, are launching a new category of books called DARE. It’s their hottest series featuring empowered, fun and fearless women with the sexiest men. Modern storylines are steamy, and might appeal to ladies of all ages, including the grandmothers and young women.

Happy reading,
and
Happy Valentine’s Day!

  1. Blushing! Can I write to this steamy heat level? DARE is such a cheeky word. I'll submit if you do. Oh dear, it's a dare. xx Ashlyn
